Two nurses at Naval Hospital Jacksonville have been removed from their positions after posting disturbing pictures of newborns on Snapchat.
In one picture, the caption stated: “How I currently feel about these mini Satans.” The nurse had her middle finger directed at the innocent newborn. A second photo has a nurse holding a baby by her arms and making her “dance” to a rap song. These are babies who have just been born and these nurses, who are supposed to be compassionate and caring, are treating them like rag dolls. Concerned people saw the pictures and then shared them on Facebook to expose these nurses mistreating the babies they were charged with caring for.
How would new parents feel about their newborns being exploited in this manner? It is further enraging when you take into account the fact that the parents are veterans. They have sacrificed so much for our country and do not deserve to have their babies treated in such a disrespectful way.
The posts were shared hundreds of thousands of times, allowing the hospital to quickly identify the nurses, who have been removed from their positions. The hospital also promised the nurses will face military and criminal justice.
This highlights the issues with the healthcare our veterans receive. Often, these hospitals are the only ones that are available to them. These Snapchat pictures call into question the level of care received at these hospitals. Some people who work in military hospitals pointed this out on Facebook.
Commenters also stated that these nurses should have their licenses revoked as they cannot be entrusted with respectfully treating their most vulnerable patients respectfully. Thankfully, the Naval Hospital removed them immediately. The parents should have a course of action to seek justice for their children as well.
Naval Hospital Jacksonville quickly moved to fire the women and bring legal action against the two dingleberries of the devil, according to the hospital’s Facebook page.
In a statement, Vice Adm. Forrest Faison, the Navy’s surgeon general, said: It has come to my attention that members of the Navy Medicine team posted highly offensive photos and videos on their personal social media pages involving newborns at our naval hospitals. This content was then shared on various platforms and has been viewed by hundreds of thousands of individuals.
Although we have submitted multiple inquiries, the Navy has not yet responded to an anonymous suggestion by a staff writer at The Root to allow someone to “beat these heaux’ ass and be done with it.”
Naval Nurses used to have a good reputation.
A few bad eggs ruined the name of the whole profession.
Her Old Classmate said,
“A girl I went to high school with is a navy nurse and this is how her and her shitty friend treat the babies that have just been born,” the classmate wrote. “My blood is literally boiling and I want to snitch bc that is someone’s child. The first pic is her friend who is making the baby dance and she’s playing rap music in the background. I’m LIVID and I’m snitching bc she should get fired from her job but idk how to go about it. Pissed isn’t even the words.”
