Jennifer Aniston’s Career Beginnings
Friends superfans are a very particular set of people. This 90s sitcom will live on forever thanks to its relatable stories, lovable characters, and hilarious scripts. Everybody has a favorite line (or five), and the show’s most loyal fans could go on and on about their adoration. One pairing from the show receives plenty of attention to this very day…
Jennifer Aniston has won so many awards and accolades, worked with so many sponsorships, and smiled from the covers of so many magazines that we aren’t even going to bother trying to round up all of the numbers. Just know that she’s awesomely talented! When she auditioned for the half-hour comedy, though, Jennifer wasn’t even reading for the part of Rachel.
I’ll Be There For You
Plenty of different actors and actresses tried their hand at auditioning for the show’s various roles. According to Mental Floss, actresses Kathy Griffin and Jane Lynch actually became friends once they met at their auditions for the part of Phoebe. Courteney Cox was originally slated to play Rachel by Friends producers, but she stuck with her preference for Monica.
All Eyes On Jennifer
Jennifer Aniston quickly became a household name in America once Friends really took off. Every publication and network wanted to know about her love life, her style, and of course, “The Rachel”—her layered haircut that every woman asked for at the salon. Rachel Green wasn’t the only thing that had everyone’s eyes on Jennifer Aniston, of course.
An Incredibly Talented Cast
Friends gathered dozens of awards from Primetime Emmys to Screen Actors Guild Awaqrds, Golden Globes, and many more. Overall, this sitcom was oen of the most successful American television programs of all time. 52 million American viewers watched the 2004 series finale, making it the single most watched television episode of the 2000s. Great producers and great actors tend to create awesome things, after all.
They Knew It Would Take Off
Before the show’s pilot aired, Director James Burrows brought the six up-and-coming stars out to Las Vegas, explaining that he “had a feeling” about the show. He encouraged the actors and actresses to have a great time, and for a good reason: “This is your last shot at anonymity,” he reportedly said to them. “Once the show comes on the air, you guys will never be able to go anywhere without being hounded.”
We’ll Give You A Hint
Okay, back to the topic at hand. We’re talking about a pair of twins that stole the Friends spotlight when they managed to grab even a second of screen time. Chandler and Monica’s twin babies, right? Wrong. If you haven’t guessed it yet, you might not be the die-hard Friends fan that you think you are.
No joke, this is what we’re talking about. Somehow, everyone who’s paid close attention to this show has noticed that Rachel Green’s nipples—or rather, Jennifer Aniston’s nipples—are more often than not fully visible. To this day, the show’s producers haven’t said a word about it. Is it really possible for something to have been so highly visible yet never explained?
They Were Seriously Everywhere
It seems like the show’s wardrobe staff handpicked undergarments and tops to showcase Jennifer’s rack. If they didn’t, well, how is it possible for a pair of nipples to be so highly visible all of the time?! Not that we’re complaining, of course! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with nipple visibility. Still, this whole thing is confusing…
Everyone Has Noticed Them
People have joked that Rachel’s nipples were “the seventh Friend,” and the general public took note of this long, long ago. Back in 2012, Jennifer appeared on Chelsea Lately, Chelsea Handler’s talk show. It wasn’t long before Chelsea declared that “When Jen comes on the show, there’s always something where her nipples are very, very pronounced.” “Not today, I can’t see them today,” Chelsea trailed off before adding “Oh, actually I can.”
Yes, someone has luckily managed to get Jennifer’s take on the whole thing. In an interview with Vogue, Jennifer explained: “It’s just one of those things, I guess. I wear a bra, I don’t know what to tell you… and I don’t know why we’re supposed to be ashamed of them—it’s just the way my breasts are!” Nothing to be ashamed of at all, Jennifer. We have no complaints.
