Fatty and generally unhealthy foods are a problem for our health. They lead to weight gain hypoactivity and a host of other health issues such as heart issues and high blood pressure. There are however other contributors to that extra weight and bloated feeling you’ve been carrying around all day. Having a bloated stomach is an undeniable inconvenience. It seems to affect all of us from time to time, some much worse than others. We’ve compiled some of the most sure-fire ways to deflate your stomach.
Fatty foods are a known enemy of your body and, more specifically, your stomach. If you eliminate or at least lessen the amount of fatty foods that you consume your stomach will feel much better in no time at all!
Salty foods can increase the bloated sensation in your stomach and can even make you physically puffier in some cases. Cutting down on your salt intake would probably help to counter the annoying feeling of bloatedness in your stomach.

Foods that are high in potassium will help to counter some of the negative effects of the side effects of overly salty food or high sodium intake. These potassium-rich foods include stuff like avocado, spinach, sweet potato, asparagus, and many others and will help remedy the situation.
8 Glasses of Water a Day
It’s not recommended that you drink 8 glasses of water a day for no reason. Water has a host of benefits for the human body and is essential in our operation and survival. It is also a fact that the average person doesn’t drink enough water and therefore aren’t helping to flush out waste and help with digestion.
Have You Got Trapped Gas?
Bloatedness can of course be caused by trapped gases in your digestive tract. To alleviate this be sure to drink lots of peppermint tea as it relaxes your digestive system and should let the gasses flow out of you naturally. Just make sure you’re alone when the gases start to flow!
You’re Not a Competitive Eater

Watch Your Sodium intake
Sodium is a recipe for disaster, it’s also liked to heart disease and high blood pressure and consuming large amounts of sodium is a well-known nutrition fopaux. So it should come as no surprise that sodium can cause bloatedness too.
Salt Can Cause Bloating
There are some of us with a serious sweet tooth and then some of us just can’t get enough salt. Salt, however, can cause bloatedness as well as heart and blood pressure issues. If you do find your self eating lots of salt drink 3 liters of water a day to avoid water retention.
The Three F’s
Well the three ‘F’ sounds at the very least. Fiber, fluids and physical exercise are of utmost importance. High fiber diet, between 8 glasses and 3 liters of water, and 30 minutes of exercise a day, 5 days a week. Keep this up a healthy new you should appear soon enough.
Wheat Allergies and/ or Lactose Intolerance
Make sure you are not lactose intolerant or have wheat allergies because these can cause bloatedness. It’s best to go see and ask your doctor rather than self-diagnose. If you are, simply follow a wheat and/or lactose free diet additionally.
If It Seems Too Good to be True
Watch out for “Sugar Free!” and artificial sweeteners. It may seem that science has out done natural and produced a man made miracle but watch out. Artificial sweeteners can cause bloating and there are a host of other worrying claims linked to artificial sweeteners surfacing.
Veggies Can Be Bad Guys Too
A general rule of thumb is to eat as much vegetables as you want because they can only be good for you. However, there are some beans and vegetables that’ll fill you with gas. Beans, Brussel sprouts and broccoli can still be eaten, just in moderation.
